Here's the scenario:
You come home from a long day and gum stain removal was the last thing you thought you were going to do today.
There it is . . . your carpet has a gum stain! You set out to find who did it.
Why does that really matter?
What matters is . . . HOW ARE YOU GOING TO GET RID OF IT?
Gum stain removal is not as hard as you might think. You don't need three possible solutions from which to choose.
Below is one successful, proven solution for removing gum from your carpet, FOR FREE.
You need:
WD-40:
(That's right! Go to the garage, the basement or even the hardware store.)
A fingernail brush:
(You can get one near the nail polish in the grocery store.)
A Spray Detergent/Degreaser:
(One like Lysol Spray Cleaner or 409 will work.)
REMOVE THE GUM:
STEP 1:
Spray the WD-40 right on the gum stain and let it sit a minute.
STEP 2:
Brush the gum in ONE direction as it is broken down by the WD-40. Remove the excess pieces of gum as you brush the spot.
Continue to spray and brush the area until the gum is completely removed.
CLEAN THE AREA:
STEP 3:
Spray the spot with the cleaner and
blot it with a clean wet sponge
Rinse out the sponge with warm water and
Keep blotting with the sponge and wipe it too, in one direction.
This will clean the area. Now just let it dry.
THIS DOES WORK! Here's how I know.
We had a party for our 1-year-old. After our friends left the party,
I noticed a spot of gum that gotten tracked in on somebody's shoe.
It was blue. UGH! And it had been stretched out from one area to another
with a string of blue gum connecting the two gum spots. I freaked out.
Then I did exactly as I just described for you. Afterwards, I couldn't even find the spot where the gum had been.
