Did you ever find that your cat peed on your laundry pile? Cats do this all the time. Cat urine is a very strong odor and will take away the clean feeling in your home very quickly. When you are cleaning up the urine in the clothes, be sure to clean the floor or other surfaces that were contaminated by the urine. If your cat smells the urnine later, she will urinate in the same place. Cat pee can be difficult to remove because it is so potent. You need to neutralize the ammonia in the urine so you can remove the smell completely. Vinegar will neutralize the urine before you launder it as directed. Follow the directions below to do this correctly.
Step 1:
If the area is still wet:
Soak up the excess urine using paper towels.
Put the towels behind the spot and on the spot and press down on a hard surface that won't absorb the urine in the process.
Replace the paper towels with clean ones and repeat this until the excess moisture is absorbed.
If the area is dry:
Move on to the next step.
Step 2:
Now you've got to neutralize the ammonia in the urine that has soaked into the clothing.
Mix equal parts water and white vinegar into a spray bottle and spray the spot until it is really wet.
Step 3:
Next, soak it all up like in Step 1.
Step 4:
If this clothing item can be washed in the washing machine:
You can launder it according to the insturctions for the fabric type.
